Two laptops, different priorities
HP’s September 4 announcement turns this former rumor page into a useful family guide. The OmniBook Ultra 16 is the larger creator and development model, while the OmniBook X 14 is positioned around mobility. They now have individual specification pages; the combined family URL remains available for readers comparing the choices rather than being deleted or redirected.
What the announcement does and does not say
The Ultra 16 has the more detailed published configuration: up to 128GB unified memory, a 16-inch 3K OLED display and a 99Wh battery. HP describes an OLED panel and up-to-15-hour battery claim for X 14, but that does not justify copying the Ultra’s memory ceiling into the smaller model. Battery figures are manufacturer video-playback tests, not independent workstation-runtime measurements.
Buying the right HP model
HP expects its two laptops at named US retailers this fall and says prices will follow nearer availability. That is an announcement window, not a verified in-stock status in Canada or elsewhere. The OmniDesk desktop is also announced, with fewer published specifications.
