Pre-orders open for Nvidia’s RTX Spark workstations — and these are the 3 local AI laptops I’d buy for business

TechRadar reports that pre-orders for NVIDIA RTX Spark laptops are open, with the first models scheduled to ship on October 16 and listed prices starting at US$2,599.99. The article highlights the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra, HP OmniBook Ultra 16, and ASUS ProArt P16 as three options for small businesses exploring local AI, while also noting that the wider launch includes systems from Lenovo, Dell, and other manufacturers.

The coverage describes RTX Spark as a Grace CPU and Blackwell GPU platform with unified-memory configurations from 24GB to 128GB. That capacity may help businesses work with larger local models, confidential documents, code, and internal research without sending every request to a cloud service, but memory size alone is not a performance guarantee. Model size, precision, software compatibility, GPU resources, Windows-on-Arm support, thermals, and the exact application workflow still need to be tested.

For Canadian buyers, TechRadar’s US$2,599.99 starting price and October 16 shipping target are not Canadian checkout terms or proof of local stock. Taxes, exchange rates, regional configurations, warranty coverage, shipping, and retailer availability may materially change the purchase. Canadian manufacturer listings and independent testing should be checked before treating the recommendations as local buying advice.
