Microsoft opens Surface Laptop Ultra preorders at $2,599 with RTX Spark N1X inside

TweakTown reports that Microsoft has opened Surface Laptop Ultra preorders at a starting price of US$2,599, with NVIDIA’s RTX Spark N1X inside. The laptop is built around the platform’s Arm-based Grace CPU, Blackwell graphics, unified memory, and CUDA and RTX software for local AI, development, creative applications, and gaming. The preorder report describes launch positioning, not an independent performance review.

The starting price will not describe every configuration. Buyers should verify memory, storage, display, power limits, cooling, battery life, Windows on Arm compatibility, drivers, and native application support before comparing models. A shared-memory design may benefit memory-heavy workloads, but sustained performance, thermals, acoustics, gaming compatibility, and software support still need testing on retail hardware.

Canadian buyers should not convert US$2,599 directly into a Canadian purchase cost. Taxes, exchange rates, regional pricing, warranty coverage, shipping, and local inventory may change the total. Microsoft’s Canadian listing and final configuration should be checked before comparing the Surface Laptop Ultra with other RTX Spark systems, x86 workstations, or Apple silicon laptops.
