DLSS 5 Comes To Hogwarts Legacy & RTX Spark, Powered By 2X Faster Model
NVIDIA says its DLSS 5 3D-Guided Neural Rendering model has been redesigned to run twice as fast as the previous version. The company says the October update reduces the model footprint by 24% to about 118 million parameters and lowers 4K VRAM use by 20% while maintaining comparable visual fidelity. These are NVIDIA's engineering and image-quality claims, not independent benchmark results.
The announcement says the updated model will arrive in NBA 2K27 on October 16 for GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, RTX Spark laptops, and GeForce NOW, with NVIDIA claiming up to a 1.4-times frame-rate increase. Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to receive DLSS 5 on November 5, including on RTX Spark, while Where Winds Meet is expected to follow in late November. The practical result will depend on each game's implementation, render settings, driver version, image-quality preferences, and the distinction between generated frames and conventionally rendered frames.
For Canadian RTX Spark buyers, NVIDIA's announcement does not establish Canadian pricing, retail availability, warranty coverage, or whether every announced game update will be available on every local configuration. The release schedule and performance claims should be checked against NVIDIA's regional product pages, game updates, and independent testing after deployment. DLSS support can improve a compatible workload, but it is not evidence by itself of overall laptop performance, battery life, or software compatibility.
