AMD Has Its Own RTX Spark PCs (And It Still Won’t Show Them to You)

Gizmodo reports that AMD is showing an early response to NVIDIA's upcoming RTX Spark PCs through HP ZBooks codenamed “Sundae.” The systems use AMD's Ryzen AI Max 400-series processors, also known as Gorgon Halo, and are reported to support up to 190GB of unified memory. AMD senior vice president Jack Huynh demonstrated one of the systems running Microsoft Flight Simulator, but the company has not yet provided the detailed specifications or independent performance results needed to judge the platform.

The report places AMD's effort alongside other Ryzen AI Max 400-series systems from Acer and Lenovo, including Acer's Aspire G AGB110 mini-PC and Aspire G 3D 16 laptop and Lenovo's ThinkCentre X Ultra. Gizmodo says the project remains too early for a full product debut, with no confirmed retail configurations or broad performance evidence. That makes direct comparisons with NVIDIA RTX Spark particularly premature: NVIDIA is targeting October with Arm-based systems using Blackwell graphics, while AMD is retaining its x86 architecture and has so far shared only a limited preview of its competing designs.

For Canadian buyers, AMD's preview is a useful reminder that RTX Spark will enter a wider market for compact AI-capable PCs rather than an uncontested category. Canadian pricing, retailer availability, launch timing, battery life, cooling, software compatibility, and title-specific gaming performance remain unknown for the Sundae systems. Shoppers should wait for production hardware and independent testing before comparing AMD's up-to-190GB memory claim with the configurations, drivers, and real-world results of RTX Spark PCs arriving this fall.
